Opportunities and Excellence

We have a curriculum and a staff team to ensure the best outcomes for the children across the academy. Kingsham Primary School is a school that values excellence across the educational spectrum. Our curriculum reaches beyond excellence in Reading, Writing and Mathematics too; ensuring that we provide children with an extensive range of opportunities so that we can transport children beyond the walls of the academy. This is to ensure our children understand that there are so many exciting opportunities which they can learn from and aspire to in their futures.

The curriculum that the children receive is alive with inspirational visitors and trips to excite them about their learning and help to provide a valuable context. At Kingsham, we believe that our curriculum should be responsible for teaching our learners with a global perspective. This is why it is underpinned by the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We want to empower our young people and ensure they recognise that they can be agents for positive change; both in terms of their attitudes, as well as in some of the concrete changes they can make in their community and the world.

Our Learning Environment

Our learning environment is characterised by a welcoming, warm and inviting atmosphere which ensures children are comfortable and confident to learn and to take risks in their learning. We know this makes a significant difference to the outcomes we can achieve together so that each child feels safe to make mistakes and be challenged to succeed.

In our inclusive learning environment, all children are valued as individuals and encouraged to be themselves. We follow three simple rules to ensure the behaviour across the school is of the highest standard. All children know that we expect them to be Ready, Respectful and Safe which can be seen in their hugely positive learning attitudes. This approach ensures that the school is alive with smiles and happiness where children are excited and look forward to coming to school every day.

The role of Parents and Carers

We know that the job we do at Kingsham Primary School is only part of the vital equation. We work with parents and carers to ensure we are partners in our children’s learning and value that essential relationship. Our teachers are available, at their classroom doors, at the beginning of the day and when picking up at the end of the day because we are committed to excellent communication with you. We will support you with supporting your children’s learning at home and in turn will rely on your support and trust for your children’s learning at school.
