Media coverage regarding RAAC in Schools

In the past week there has been much coverage in the news regarding concerns of a type of concrete used in the construction of some schools, known as RAAC.

Last December we checked with the local authority who was responsible for our school’s construction.  The local authority confirmed there was no such concern with regard to RAAC in the fabric of the school.  This information had been requested by the Department of Education (DfE) who we informed of the response.

The health and safety of our pupils, staff and visitors to our school is of the highest importance, and we continually monitor and review the state of our buildings, furniture and equipment.

We trust this alleviates any concerns you may have.  Further information about RAAC and the impact for those schools that have been affected can be found at https://educationhub.blog.gov.uk/2023/08/31/new-guidance-on-raac-in-education-settings/
