Final Newsletter of the Year

Dear Parents and Carers

As we enter the final week of the term, it is the perfect time to say an enormous thank you for all of your support throughout the year. We finish the year having enjoyed a fabulous Summer Term with a range of incredible opportunities for the children, which they have grabbed with both hands and shone beautifully. We have also celebrated a much stronger set of Key Stage 2 results in Year 6, than in recent years. This is even more of a significant achievement, given the unprecedented interruption to learning the children have faced. This is a huge credit to all of the children and staff.

We wish all of our families a fabulous summer holiday and we hope the sun continues to shine throughout the holidays for you all. Thursday 21st July is the last day of the term and we will be finishing at 1:15pm on that day.

Summer Term Opportunities

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the Kingsham staff who worked so hard to provide superb experiences for the children throughout the Summer Term. From our fabulous Sports Day and Sports Week, to a range of school trips and our Performing Arts Showcase at The University of Chichester, the children have represented the school beautifully. It has been such a pleasure speaking to the children about the events that they have been involved with and hearing their passion and enthusiasm for such a range of opportunities.

The Friends of Kingsham Primary School

A year of so many events at the school culminated in Happy’s Circus last week. It took a huge amount of organisation from the Friends in the days and weeks before and, from all of the excited conversations I had with the children, it was certainly worth it. We are extremely grateful to the Friends of Kingsham Primary School for all of their work for our school.

If you would be interested in working with the friends next year, please contact the school office at office@kingshamprimary.org.uk

Returning Books to School

Thank you to all of the families who have searched their homes to be able to return any school library books back to us. We would really appreciate it if all of our families could search for any school library books. Every year we have to invest in replacing books that are not returned – so it would be lovely if we could use this money to buy new books rather than replace existing ones. Many thanks for your help with this.

Eco Green Flag and the School Gardening Award

We are delighted to announce that Kingsham Primary School has achieved the Eco Green Flag with distinction. We have also been awarded the Level 5 School Gardening Award from the Royal Horticultural Society.

Mrs Tarrant is rightly very proud of her Green Gang and the whole school community who have supported to achieve these fabulous awards.

Dates of the Autumn Term 2022

We look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Monday 5th September as the school is closed to the children for our INSET days on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd September.

Half term is Monday 24th October to Friday 28th October. We will have two INSET days on Monday 31st October and Friday 25th November.

To find the term dates for the year, please go to our website on the Parent’s Area here.

Parent/Carer Survey

A huge thank you to all of the parents and carers who took the time to complete our Parent/Carer Survey. We were delighted to receive your valuable feedback and to be able to read the overwhelmingly positive comments that were made. Here is a summary of the key areas:

100% of the responses agreed or strongly agreed that their child(ren)’s report gave a clear picture of their progress, effort and attainment across the curriculum.

98% of the responses agreed or strongly agreed that they liked the opportunity to hear their child(ren) share their greatest achievements at parent/carer consultation.

100% of the responses agreed or strongly agreed that their children were safe in school.

100% of the responses agreed or strongly agreed that their child has a positive attitude to learning and knows the CROWN Learner Values.

100% of the responses agreed or strongly agreed that the school values everyone equally and teaches pupils that difference is a positive, not a negative.

Sending all of our very best wishes
