This is an exciting and unique opportunity to work for a successful academy which is proud to be part of the University of Chichester Multi Academy Trust. You will be responsible for supporting the Local Governing Body to undertake its vital role in ensuring effective governance and high-quality education and outcomes for children. You will provide advice, guidance, administrative and organisational support to the Chair and the Governors to ensure their understanding and compliance of the legal and regulatory framework for schools.
We are seeking a dynamic and flexible person, with excellent organisation skills and proven administrative experience to support our Local Governing Body. You will oversee the organisation of meetings, work closely with the Chair of Governors, record and produce accurate minutes and advise on changes in legislation, policy and governance issues.
A motivated self-starter, you will be able to work under your own initiative, manage deadlines and keep accurate records. The ability to remain impartial, comply with data protection legislation and maintain confidentiality is essential.
Previous experience as a Clerk to a Governing Body is not essential as we will support you with a wealth of resources and you will gain further knowledge by undertaking the accredited Governors certification training, alongside any other professional networking and development provided by the Trust.
There is flexibility in the hours of work, except for the dates of the scheduled Local Governing Body meetings which typically take place 10 times each year. Meetings frequently take place late afternoon/early evening.
