An exciting opportunity has arisen in our wonderful community school for a part-time Administrative Assistant. We are looking for someone to add something special to the administrative support for our school – as the Administrative Assistant you will be one of the welcoming faces of the school; often the first impression of the school that sits behind you which we are incredibly proud of.

Our school is vibrant and forward-thinking with passionate staff who always strive to get the best for every child. We are committed to providing high-quality education and have developed a curriculum to match. As a school in The University of Chichester Academy Trust, you will have the support of other schools within the Trust as well as our experienced HR and Finance Officer.

We are looking for a flexible, reliable and enthusiastic new team member to work within our busy school office in this varied role. There will be a portion of the role which will be responsible for our school library. We are looking for someone who shares our commitment and enthusiasm to develop the best possible provision for our children and staff whilst dealing with constantly changing priorities.

You will need to support all administrative functions in order to assist in the smooth running of the school and to maintain accurate records.  A team worker, the successful candidate will also be confident to work on a busy reception desk on their own at times. Previous school experience and knowledge of school management information systems would be advantageous although is not essential.

The successful candidate will often be the first port of call for all enquiries and needs to be able to communicate and operate in a highly professional, friendly manner with staff, pupils, parents and visitors. Excellent organisational skills and a cheery and friendly manner are therefore key qualities for this role.  Candidates should be passionate about every child’s learning and progress, able to work closely with a strong, collaborative team of colleagues and have a desire to promote excellent behaviour and high standards.

You will be expected to:

  • To provide high-quality customer service for all who visit the school and work in the school;
  • To provide administrative support to the Headteacher, Finance & HR Officer and staff;
  • To be organised and efficient;
  • To maintain the filing system for prompt retrieval of information;
  • To proficiently use a PC, including using Office, email, Excel, Publisher and Arbor;
  • To hold or to be willing to undertake training in enhanced levels of first aid/paediatric care

We offer you a skilled, hardworking and dedicated staff team willing to offer support and expertise to develop your own practice, as well as excited to learn from you.

In return, you will be part of the University of Chichester Academy Trust, bringing you added benefits and opportunities. You will find that each of our Academies has a unique identity, but a shared belief in creating a positive and enriching environment, where all staff feel valued.

For an informal discussion or to visit the school, please contact Dawn Hanlon, Finance and HR Officer on (01243) 784046, or email dhanlon@kingshamprimary.org.uk. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  Any appointment is subject to satisfactory completion of all relevant pre-employment checks.
