Letter from Lee Dallinger, Head teacher

Dear Parents and Carers

As you will undoubtedly have heard this evening, we have now entered a national lockdown. Following this announcement by the government, this means that we will have to close the school to most pupils and switch to remote education. I understand that this will cause some families some anxiety and I want to reassure our families that we will support our children and families through the coming weeks.

As from tomorrow, only children classed as vulnerable or those whose parents/carers are critical workers will be permitted to attend school. For all other children, they will need to access remote education using their Microsoft Teams login. Staff will be available to respond to any queries using Teams. They will also contact all of our families, at least fortnightly, so that the children can stay in touch with their teachers.

If your child is classed as vulnerable, you will receive a phone call in the morning to invite your child to attend school.

If one parent or carer is a critical worker, your child will be permitted to attend school. A list of all roles classed as critical are on the attached document. If you believe your role is listed on the attached document, please bring your ID badge or other proof of your role. If you only work part time, your child need only attend on the days when you work.

For tomorrow, while we are compiling these new bubbles, could you please bring your children, in school uniform, to the front office at the following times: (while observing strict social distancing.)

If you have more than one child at the school, please bring them all at the earliest time.

Reception, Yr 1 and 2 – 8:30am

Yr 3 and 4 – 9:00am

Yr 5 and 6 – 9:30am

If your child is entitled to free school meals, or they have ordered a school meal, then one will be provided for them. Otherwise, please send them in with a packed lunch. Please then pick them up at 3:00pm from their normal classroom.

I will ensure that we provide further communication later this week, although for now I want to be able to give information about the immediate arrangements.

Thank you for your ongoing support and please stay safe during this period.

Best wishes

Lee Dallinger
