Letter from Lee Dallinger, Headteacher

Dear Parents and Carers

As I am sure you can imagine, it has been a very challenging week following the government announcement at 8pm on Monday evening. I am extremely proud to say that the passion, commitment and drive of the staff team at Kingsham has been outstanding. The team are utterly committed to ensuring that all of our children get the very best learning opportunities, whether they are learning remotely at home or are one of the limited number entitled to a space at school.

I would like to say a huge thank you to the huge number of parents and carers who have expressed such kind words of support and gratitude to both myself and the staff team. It has been an enormous source of motivation to be able to pass those comments on.

If you are accessing our remote education…

We know that juggling working from home and supporting your children’s learning at home can be particularly challenging. Our aim is to provide you with tasks which are easy to access and which help the children to practice and apply the knowledge that they have gained at school.

Please encourage and support your child(ren) to access the remote education daily. We would always like you to prioritise reading and would encourage the children to read every day. There are a range of valuable resources on our website under the tab ‘Pupil Resources’ to supplement the work set on Teams or (Tapestry for Early Years).

Your child’s teacher will be phoning you fortnightly to offer any support and check in with the children. A teaching assistant will also be phoning to answer any queries or support with any area of the remote education. If you want to speak to your child’s teacher before then, please contact the school office who will arrange for the teacher to contact you.

As ever, we welcome your feedback on our approach to learning for all of our children and, with your help, we will ensure that we respond to the needs of our families throughout this lockdown period.

Best wishes

Lee Dallinger
