Children's Mental Health Week

This week, Kingsham will be celebrating ‘Children’s Mental Health Week’ with other schools and organisations across the UK. The theme for the week is ‘Express Yourself’. Expressing yourself is about finding ways to share feelings, thoughts, or ideas, through creativity. This could be through art, music, writing and poetry, dance and drama, photography and film, and doing activities that make you feel good.  We will be encouraging children (and adults) to explore the different ways we can take care of our own well-being. You will see a range of activities during this week as part of your child’s home-learning that you can join in with.

You can find more about Children's Mental Health Week by clicking here.

Whole school activities

There will be a range of creative activities to join in to support well-being. There will also be online assemblies and Thrive activities to access. Please see assignments on TEAMS or work set on Tapestry.

Youtube channel

Throughout the week, there will be well-being challenges set by teachers each day. This includes a scavenger hunt, making your own smoothie, random acts of kindness and yoga! Subscribe to Kingsham’s Youtube page to keep up-to-date. You can also access the videos on the ‘Children’s Mental Health Week’ playlist.

There will also be a virtual meeting on Tuesday 2nd February with Mrs Mallinson to talk about strategies and activities to support children's well-being during this difficult time.

It would be a great opportunity to share ideas with each other, listen and chat about how everyone is. This is open to all parents and carers of pupils at Kingsham Primary School.

Please join the Teams Meeting by one of the links below:

You can join the morning session at 10.00 by clicking here.

You can join the afternoon session at 1.30 by clicking here.

If you would like to join the meeting and listen to what others say, rather than taking part in the discussion please do, the meeting is there to support each other whichever way is best for you. Mrs Mallinson will also be available to have further discussions after the meeting, if there is something you are worried about and would like to discuss on a 1:1 basis.
